News Release: Michigan Catholic Conference Applauds Senate for Increasing State Minimum Wage
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(LANSING)—Michigan Catholic Conference Vice President for Public Policy Paul A. Long made the following statement today after the Senate passed legislation increasing the state minimum wage:
“Work is more than just a job, it is a reflection of our human dignity and a way to contribute to the common good. The Senate took a tremendous step forward today toward pursuing that common good by increasing the minimum wage in our state, and we applaud their efforts. It is our hope that the House will act soon on this legislation and the Governor will sign the bill into law.”
Michigan Catholic Conference is the official public policy voice of the Catholic Church in this state.
