Posted June 25, 2013
Effective June 30, 2013, all coaches, employees, volunteers, and other adults involved with a youth athletic activity must comply with Michigan’s Sports Concussion Awareness Laws, Public Acts 342 & 343 of 2012. There are many specific requirements in the sports concussion legislation, including requirements to complete a concussion awareness on-line training program, providing educational materials related to the signs and symptoms of concussions to parents and guardians, and the handling of an athlete who may have sustained a concussion.
