Testimonials from Network Members
The work that MCC does in making the actual political issues available to Catholic people who want to know what they can do to make a difference is remarkable. The Catholic Church not only wants to uphold good Christian values in our society, but she provides a way to do that for anyone who is interested. I have forwarded MCC messages to many people when I get them, because I know that they too would like to do something.
The Catholic Advocacy Network is the easiest and most effective way I know of to encourage our legislators in Lansing to vote in a manner consistent with our Catholic values on a wide range of important issues. It literally takes only a couple of minutes to dash an email off to key lawmakers, and the Catholic Advocacy Network guides you every step of the way! It is so simple—sign up today!
Even with today’s technology and 24-hour media, it’s hard to constantly keep an eye on what’s going on at the State Capitol. It’s even harder to make sure that my leaders know that I want their votes to reflect my Catholic values. Catholic Advocacy Network helps me do both—and it’s easy.
I like to use the Catholic Advocacy Network because it is a simple and efficient way I can put my faith into action in the public square.
The Catholic Advocacy Network has been most helpful in making comments to our elective officials regarding issues of the day that impact us as practicing Catholics. Many times comments are allowed but trying to find the proper place to address such comments can be challenging at best. The Network allows us to make these comments and be assured that they are directed to the proper parties.
I have used the Catholic Advocacy Network to read MCC’s coverage of important, faith-centered moral and social topics. The convenience of the online ‘contact your legislator’ feature is the biggest reason I subscribe to the Network… timely and very easy to use. The Network has been very helpful in that—like everyone else—a busy schedule makes it very difficult to try to stay on top of all that is going on in the halls of government, especially legislative activity from a ‘Catholic perspective.’ Such a perspective is noticeably absent on other websites. The Catholic Advocacy Network provides a convenient way for subscribers to read up on and have our say on faith and morality topics that otherwise get lost in secular coverage. We need an outlet like this.
I am happy that my voice is counted. Thanks to the leadership of the Michigan Catholic Conference, I can make a difference through my participation in the Catholic Advocacy Network. Using this valuable and necessary tool efficiently and effectively helps me to express my Catholic values concerning the important issues and decisions faced by our elected officials. The fruits of the Catholic Advocacy Network are experienced by all people in the state of Michigan and beyond.
I have never really known where to go to get reliable information on issues. Catholic Advocacy Network informs me of important issues and provides me an easy way to contact my legislators to encourage them to make morally right decisions.
The Holy Spirit challenges me (us) to be a light, and He instructs my heart to be ever vigilant to preach the Gospel, no matter the arena. We are to pray for our elected officials and lead all into truth. This vehicle [the Catholic Advocacy Network] helps me to be informed and to encourage 'right' thinking and leadership with those who make decisions effecting citizens.
I really appreciate how the Catholic Advocacy Network makes speaking to my government officials and leaders easy. I don't always know what to write to make my point, but [the Catholic Advocacy Network] gives examples and script to use. I love being able to help my fellow brothers and sisters join together for what is right. We all know the more voices being heard, the more we can get done. Thank you Catholic Advocacy Network for making it simpler to help all mankind.
I have used the Catholic Advocacy Network to make myself aware of legislative issues we face and that will certainly affect us as Catholics. The Network has made me aware of the need to be active in the ‘public square,’ to make sure that the Catholic voice heard, and to become preemptive when appropriate. In this modern era we, as Catholics, need to be forceful in speaking out not only on legislative issues but in every other forum.
As an active Catholic and Secular Franciscan, I find that the Catholic Advocacy Network helps to cut through the secular and political rhetoric of legislative issues important to Catholics today. I have been lobbying government representatives for over 10 years and any help I can get to make the process easier is appreciated.
I appreciate notices and updates from the Catholic Advocacy Network, as well as the ease with which I can contact legislators. Great work.
Where else can we Catholics get this tremendous Catholic Advocacy Network to refer to regarding issues that affect all citizens? We as Catholics have a responsibility to work for social justice. We have a moral obligation to live, work and vote according to God's Laws! If we love God, love our neighbor, we will be involved in Catholic Advocacy and issues.
I want to be involved in Catholic issues like abortion, contraception, protecting life and family. Although it is easy and necessary to be involved by praying, I feel lost trying to be involved politically. The Catholic Advocacy Network takes me by the hand, informs me about issues happening exactly at the moment, and tells me how I can make an impact.
I use the Catholic Advocacy Network to touch base with my elected officials on issues important to me as a Catholic American. I know that when I send my correspondence through Catholic Advocacy Network it will get to the officials designated. We Catholic American's cannot be silent.
Reasons I support the Catholic Advocacy Network: 1. There's no easier way to contact my politicians on important issues. 2. A few clicks and my opinion on important issues is on its way.
MCC makes it easy for me to act on these issues that matter to me and so many of us; with a few simple clicks I can make my voice heard and, hopefully, matter. With all good intentions, many times I probably would never 'get it done' otherwise.
As the former Director of Christian Service for the Diocese of Kalamazoo, I found the MCC Legislative Alerts to be an excellent way for me to inform both groups and individuals about MCC positions on issues and to give them an efficient way to share their positions on important issues with elected officials.
